According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, 13.8 billion cubic meter of Natural gas were supplie to China through the Power of Siberia pipeline in the initial eleven months of 2022, making Russia one of China’s top oil and natural gas suppliers.
Putin told reporters at the beginning of a video call with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“According to this year’s figures, Russia is now one of leaders in Crude oil exports to China.”
Last month, Russia beat Saudi Arabia for China’s top oil exporter.
Putin noted that Russia remained China’s fourth-largest supplier of liquefied gas and also its second-largest provider of (LNG) Pipeline gas.
He stated that exports in December had surpassed daily contractual agreements by 18%.
When Moscow began sending its military forces into Ukraine on February 24. And also when west imposed unprecedented sanctions against Russia, Russian energy shipments to China has increased significantly.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. this year saw a 64% rise in value and a 10% rise in volume of Russia’s energy shipments to China.
