Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, stated that the current state of the Global economy is one of a confluence of hazards, and it is everyone’s duty to stop them from getting worse.
She stated that India sees holding the G20 Presidency as both an opportunity and a responsibility. While speaking at the G20 Finance Ministers & Reserve Bank Governors (G20FMCBG) conference on Thursday in Washington, D.C.
India’s thinking, according to Nirmala Sitharaman, is centre on re-establishing trust in multilateralism.
“India’s efforts will be to encourage talks that recognise our interdependencies, our shared wisdom. And our joint ambition for a safe, peaceful, and prosperous world,” she stated.
“G20 Finance Ministers have always come together in the most trying global circumstances, set aside their differences, and worked toward a common goal of prosperity for our people.” The Union Minister claimed.
She advised the FMCBGs to keep cooperating in this spirit of unity.
