China Incorporates Lithium Chloride Into Import Tariffs Plan, Going Into Effect in 2024

On December 20, 2023, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced that changes will be made to the import and export tariffs on certain goods, effective January 1, 2024,

in accordance with “The Rules of the People’s Republic of China on Export and Import Duties” and other pertinent provisions, in order to fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement the new development philosophy,

speed up the formation of a new development pattern, and to better fulfil the important functions of taxes in coordinating both domestic and international markets and resources.

With effect from 2024, the State Council’s Tariff Commission has declared that lithium chloride. Which is currently classified under tariff code 28273910, will be add to the immigrated goods tariff schedule.

Lithium chloride, with tariff code 28273910, will have a 5% most-favored nation (MFN) tariff and a 0% provisional import tariff in 2024.
