Vedanta Ltd reported a 6% increase in total aluminium production in the 3rd quarter of the current fiscal year to 5,99,000 tonnes on Wednesday. 5,66,000 tonnes of aluminium were produced by the company in the same period last year.
In contrast to 69,000 tonnes during the same period last year, Zinc International’s total mined production dropped by 40% to 41,000 tonnes in the December quarter.
Vedanta stated in a regulatory filing that its Karnataka production of marketable iron ore was constant at 1.4 million tonnes during the 3rd quarter of this fiscal year.
Pig iron production increased to 2,03,000 tonnes in the most recent quarter of December from 2,00,000 tonnes in the same period the previous year.
As per the filing, the accessibility of blast furnaces and enhanced operational efficiency led to an 11% rise in the output of saleable steel, reaching 3,41,000 tonnes.
In the same quarter of the prior fiscal year, it was 3,06,000 tonnes.
